Joey Barton is a spoilt, cheap nasty thug, and always has been. I watched that match in a Manchester pub, and the consensus was that he was an 'animal'. If you see him in the kebab shop, it's time to hail a taxi...
He worked hard to distance himself from his 'racist axe murderer' brother, but his clan's reign of terror is notorious in the area where said murder happened. If Barton wasn't playing footy, he'd be enacting his own Danny Dyer movie.
Presume this is in reference to the above post rather than Martin Amis?
Yeah, I've no doubt Barton is every bit as bad as you say. But I still think his use of quotation is just as legitimate as anybody else's, and that there's something revealing about the suggestion that it's not.
These are the days we'll look back on fondly as the best years of our lives and wish we could re-visit.
I keep telling my kids that but they just look at me like I'm some kind of old hippy. Aggressive optimism seems to scare them.
